Literary attestation

Saint Andrew en Krisei (in Judgement), a martyr from the time of the Iconoclast Controversy, was born in the early 8^th century. The ecclesiastical encomium to him relates the following: "He was the blessed one who led a pious life in the way of God, in the so-called Kastro of Crete (Vassilis Laourdas, "Saint Andrew en Krisei and Crete in the Iconoclast Controversy", Kretika Chronika vol. V, 1951, p. 34 - in Greek).
