A Guerrilla Organisation in Heraklion
One of the chief intelligence networks was established in Heraklion town during the first weeks of the Occupation. At the head of the National Information and Sabotage Organisation (Greek EOPD) was its founder, a young man named Georgios Doundoulakis, who had a fluent command of English. Initially active inside the town, EOPD later broadened its activities to include the wider environs. Apart from gathering and dispatching intelligence to the Middle East Allied Command, members of the organisation became involved in sabotage attacks and other resistance activities.
