Cretan Nobles (Nobili Cretensi)
Cretan titles had local currency, and were initially only awarded to Venetian colonists of burgher background who did not have titles in the mother city. However, after a time they were also bestowed on citizens of Greek descent, including descendants of the old Byzantine nobility.
