POLICE ORDINANCE

The Prefect of Heraklion

In consideration of document 656/601 made on the 13th of this month by the Mayor of Heraklion, which reports that local carters have recently taken to driving their carts through exceedingly narrow streets, thereby not only causing damage to the walls of buildings on either side, but also potentially causing accidents involving wayfarers, in particular regard to women and children,

And in view of article 17 of Law no. 51,

We forbid the passage of carts through streets less than three metres in width.

Enforcement hereof, which comes into effect upon publication in the Official Gazette, is assigned to members of the Municipal and Police Authorities.

At Heraklion, this 15th March 1904
