Flowers on Graves

ATTENTION

"In recent days the Heraklion Garrison Headquarters has regrettably made an unpleasant discovery, and wishes to alert the population's attention thereto.

Residents in the town have preferentially placed flowers or wreaths on the graves of British soldiers at various points in the town of Heraklion, without doing so for Greek and German casualties. Since this act is regarded as a provocation directed against the German occupation authorities, the Garrison Headquarters wishes to alert the population's attention to this matter, with the intention of imposing the commensurate exemplary punishment on those arrested as guilty."
