The Georgiadis Park

In those days, after the liberation, there was only a narrow lane for the carts to pass, and we slowly built it up with cartloads of earth. The Museum and the Archeological Service had it in for us, but the mayor came along and said "You dump and I'll sort things out." And that's how that whole bit was filled up. There was a big dip there - slowly, with all the earth and rubble, it was turned into the Georgiadis park.
