The fountain is in a poor state of repair and no water flows from it, but an inscription reminds us of its purpose:

CURA SAGREDI PROFLUIT DUCIS (this water flows thanks to the ministrations of Duke Sagredo).

The springs feeding this fountain have not been located. It may have been supplied with the brackish water still to be found at the Lazaretto Gate and at Vlyvchada.
