St. Catherine's is now a museum. Owned by the Archdiocese of Crete, the permanent collection includes works representative of the Cretan Renaissance, the finest examples of which are a number of portable icons by Michail Damaskinos, including The Burning Bush, The Divine Liturgy, Noli me tangere, The Adoration of the Magi, The Last Supper and The First Oecumenical Synod.

The museum displays also include collections of altar furnishings, books, vestments and extracted wall paintings.
