A number of piazze basse have now been fully restored and converted into venues for cultural events of various types. Plays and concerts are held in the piazza bassa in the Bethlehem Bastion, now known as the Manos Hatzidakis Open Air Theatre, while the piazza in the Bethlehem Bastion has been converted into a municipal cinema.
